Timing of "Kindred Spirits" under "The Rising"

But WHY should two cards with the SAME sentence structure function differently?
They both say "If [event] then do [effect]". So there is no reason, based on the text, why The unnamed shouldn't operate like Kindred Spirits.

Bleed action declared.
As action resolves 'If condition then do' on The unnamed.
Gain Edge.


What is wrong with making it so that gaining the edge is always the last thing you do during a successful bleed?

It is "if the bleed is successful".

Thus my question. I also read what Scott wrote. If I had read that at the time I would ask the same thing.

Wait a minute... let me check something. Just remembered how similar in timing unnamed is with Lutz.
Yes. There's a ruling with Lutz that if a referendum kills your prey by itself, Lutz special hits your next prey.
It has to do with Last Stand, but it applies here if you ignore that.

So, it appears minion texts that have an effect after an action succeeds resolve after the actions themselves.
I just don't understand why. Card texts are not clear to me.

Yes. I'm considering changing the ruling on the unnamed to have both cards work the same way (and reduce confusion). But that will be more explicit in the incoming RTR.
