I don't know you, but you seem like a nice, friendly guy who's very cool for the Community as a whole.
Not everybody is like that.
I'm sure you can print cards that in thickness are very similar to regular ones. I'm not sure everyone else can.
Where do we draw the line? No Judge can have a way to measure what is ok and what is not in thickness and in weight.

I think the easiest route is for everybody to use normal sheets of paper and regular cards to back them.
It is easiest for the Judges too.

If your intent was to point out a flaw in the current tournament rules, you were successful. But if you're just asking, well, the rules are quite clear on what is an acceptable proxy. And it's not "stupid" to apply the rules as written - even though many judges would likely allow your prints.

All I'm trying to do is figure out is whether, for myself and anyone else out there who's going to take the time to print up decent quality cards from the new online release, we can actually use those cards in any official event.

If we can't, then fine, I'll also print on paper and have those on hand for tournament use.

It doesn't make sense to me, but if that's the rule I'll play along. That's why I'm raising the argument now.

It has already been explained on another thread why cardstock prints for the cards won't be tournament leagal.

IIRC, just VEKN making absolutely sure no one from the copyrightholders would start getting a wrong kind of message. A message where VEKN condones proper carsstock prints of VTES cards which might kinda be considered a breach of their copyright. Or something.

Since the current instructions are:

- Print it out at kinkos/home on paper
- Slide paper into sleeve with a previously commercially printed VTES card

Then as a Judge, I'd have to say "Yes, you are disqualified".

What weight of paper is legal and what weight is illegal?

Non-Camarilla

Standard (70-100g/sqm) is perfect.

"real quality" cardboard would be around 400g/sqm, I suppose. Perhaps a bit more. And I'm not even sure.

Most of the quality of the print doesn't come from the paper. It comes from the printer.
