That's exactly because they're unfinished. ;) They don't have the proper leading, spacing, kerning, font sizing, etc.

Even with the vertical alignment they look unfinished (updated — see Homa, Ubende, Brigitte after a refresh).

Try bolding the text and making the box a shade of grey. I agree that there's a fair amount of space that's unused by the text, but again, that fixed-sized space is still serving the purposes of crypt-vs-library recognition and visual uniformity.

The "simple" vampires in this set look a lot more "finished" with their text bolded and the text box shaded:

Do you have a 9-card sheet version of sample vamps to look at?

Quick note: your generator isn't bolding the Laibon sect and Magaji title.

Yes, this is deliberate. It doesn't bold text when everything is bold — bold is that scenario is pointless.

Says you. Let's have a look at it bolded to match the official text templating rules.

Another note: How about toning down the text box by making it a shade of grey? The white seems kinda loud.

Disagree here; when it comes to print readability is key — more so when home printers are involved.

The white makes it look loud and it contributes to an unfinished look.

Another note: the contrast of the group number isn't quite working out in some cases. Perhaps the grey backing circle could be darkened.

Idea, non relevant to the previous discussion, but also about crypt redesign.

To use something like this for advanced disciplines on vampires:

to make ability to use both basic and advanced ability on cards more intuitive.

I don't know if it would be more intuitive.
I still have trouble dealing with merged vampire and I play this game since KMW. I fear that new icon (even if they are a mix-up of already existing icon) will bring more confusion.

Advanced vampires is a rare case, but anvanced discipline is a most basic gameplay. I got confused looks from like 95% of new players when I'm trying to explain, that diamond on a vampire (which is on some cards smaller than squire) means both squire and diamond on a card.

Ok. My apologies, when I first read your previous post I understood something else.
(I thought it was designed to help vampire who gain Discipline level when merged. )

So as for your idea, I like it.
It will feel odds at first but if it can help new player why deprive ourself ?

Ke, can you set the opacity of the white box to 80-85%? That might help soften things.

That probably depends a lot on how Ke has created the "L" frame of the clan background. If it's flush with the text box, it might work. If the text box overlaps the horizontal portion of the border, it'll look awkward.
