Enough with the fantasy that anyone is going to bother buying the game.

I'll stop with the fantasy that someone is going to buy the game -- something that actually did almost happen, multiple times -- when everyone else stops the fantasy that allowing proxies is going to generate new players -- something that has no basis in fact.

My fantasy is not that proxies will generate new players.
It is that proxies will keep new players (once already in the game) to lose interest in the competitive field of the game. I've seen that happen.
But I see know that those cases are fringe and we would probably lose more interest from the experienced players than we do from the new ones.

And to all of you pessimists out there: the more CCP goes down the easier for us to get a new owner.
Why? This game has 2 property owners: Hasbro (system and mechanics) and CCP (background and characters).
The worse one of these (or both) is (are), the cheaper their specific Trademark is.
Of course I might be missing something important.
I would like to know from the people who understand much more than me on this.

BTW: nobody I've seen has ever given any ideas for the new expansion's name.

It might be Sabbat based and we're doing it without a company owner, so...
"Fighters of Gehenna"?
"Everlasting Crusade"?
"Undying Struggle"? <-- I kinda like this one the best, for the message it brings and it's probable the coolest name of the 3.

I think the experienced player leaving in protest over proxies is much more of a fringe case, it's just that they're going to be more vocal about it.

I suggest you then go try out Chess and Go.

Chess is not even at all, First move advantage has been under discussion since 1889.

I was think about a way to get around this legal shit. First of we could redesign the backside and front layout. Just use sleeves... Second we must name the game something else, like Night Hunters or something. Then we rename the clans. Like Pharaos for the setites and give them a new symbol (unless we can use White-wolf's symbols and name etc.) Sects could be named Cammy (or Ivory Tower) and Sabbath (or The Sword) and unaligned. Subsects of Anarchs and Black Hand would get new names aswell as NacNeils and Magnus Nigrum. Disciplines must be renamed Knuckle (Potence) Animal Ken (Animalism) Illusion (Chimestry) etc... I don't want people to start to use these new names. It's just to get around these legal matters. Old players will use the old names (I HOPE).

Or we could release Kuei-jin, that Disco_stu has been working on. Vekn could make it to an all new game. But make it work with the old Vtes.

Any thoughts?
