Yeah, but there's huge difference between in the sauna and to be taken behind the sauna... Trust me.

But I do think that the core of the problem is that some people prefer to shuffle their decks using bridge shuffle and if you sleeve the deck you won't be able to bridge shuffle any more.

...are there actually people who bridge shuffle vtes cards?!
Those poor cards! Don't they get totally ruined after a while?

Maybe they just mean riffle? The bridge itself is not needed to shuffle the cards. I don't have much problems to riffle a sleeved deck (I only riffle the corners to bend the cards less), but it tends to damage the sleeves.

No. I've been using some of the exact same cards, unsleeved, and bridge shuffle them regularly for nigh unto 17 years. And they still work fine. And don't even look particularly worn (exception: the first VTES edition base set cards were of a horrible card stock, and got cruddy very quickly, but Jyhad cards still look fine).

Nope. But also keep in mind that not everyone fetishizes their game components.

Yes.
Frequently.
Never had a problem with it, do it right and the cards aren't damaged.
